Civic Award to Alsager Partnership Chair and Vice-Chair

Earlier this month, Chairman of Alsager Town Council, Councillor Shirley Jones recognised volunteer groups and individuals within the Alsager community with a Civic Award.  Amongst the recipients, we are very proud to say was Chairman of Alsager Partnership, John Poulson and Vice-Chairman, Kath Reader.

Both John and Kath were given a Chairman's award; John for his leadership of the Partnership and Kath for her leadership in making Alsager a Dementia Friendly Community; described by Councillor Jones as "taking the bull by the horns".

Many organisations and individuals were acknowledged on the night and it was a marvelous evening for all those present.  Another recipient of the Civic Award was Alsager High School teacher Lee Whitmarsh, who received a Cultural Activity Award for his exciting project utilising Microsoft SWAY software alongside pupils at the school to be used as an interactive 'life-story' for people living with dementia.  This is something Lee has worked closely with Alsager Partnership to develop and has since received many awards, including a prestigious Pearson Teaching Award.  Congratulations to all the recipients on the night!
