Dementia Action Week in Alsager 2019

IT'S TIME TO UNITE AND TAKE ACTION ON DEMENTIA and we have a great week planned in Alsager.

This is the one week of the year when we can all turn our understanding of dementia into action! No action is too small.

As part of Alsager Partnership’s commitment to making Alsager a Dementia Friendly Community we have delivered a programme of events and activities throughout the town that form part of Dementia Action Week 2019.  This week has seen great support from local businesses and community groups with more people signing up to become Dementia Friends.  As part of the programme we were excited to launch our latest addition to the town as we have recently purchased a Tovertafel (Dutch for Magic Table), designed to support people living with dementia.  You can find out more here at Tovertafel. Visitors attended the launch on Wednesday 22nd May and interacted with this amazing piece of equipment with a wonderful response from anyone that had a go.

In addition to this, on Monday 20th we kick started the week by hosting a public marketplace at the Alsager Civic, with a wealth of health providers, activities and demonstrations for visitors to come along and enjoy and we ended the week with our Memory Café.

What a fabulous week.... here are some photos of the week in action.
